As a Data Scientist at FNA, you will accelerate the development of our award-winning analytics software while implementing and delivering important data science solutions for some of the world's largest and most influential institutions.

  • Actively participate as a contributing member on a team of data scientists through the whole workflow, from data collection and modeling to operationalization and implementation
  • Contribute to the development of client centric solutions and products related to Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs), such as liquidity optimization for financial institutions and payment systems, risk management in central counterparties, stress testing of banks and FMIs, and synthetic data modeling
  • Partner with internal FNA stakeholders and client subject matter experts to refine analyses, gain insights and present new findings
  • Clearly communicate analyses, recommendations, status and results to colleagues, management and clients
  • Assist in the operationalization of models into production within the FNA Platform
  • Carry out research and development of new use-cases, algorithms and solutions - either as part of our product road-map or based on specific client requirements
  • Promote the use and adoption of FNA algorithms, products and platforms internally and externally through research papers and client projects
  • Assist with training, mentoring and coordinating interns and junior data scientists

Who we’re looking for: 

  • The right candidates will have a completed PhD or masters degree in economics, finance, physics or mathematics and have at least one degree in economics or finance, or hold a CFA designation
  • Candidates with a PhD should have at least one year of relevant experience and candidates with a masters degree should have at least three years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience coding in Python (preferred), R, Matlab or Java
  • Experience developing and applying financial models, ideally in the context of FMIs, to practical problems in commercial or academic settings and presenting results to stakeholders
  • Good understanding of FMIs (payment systems, central counterparties and custodians), financial risk management (liquidity, market, counterparty, credit and systemic risk), digital currencies and/or agent based modeling. 
  • You should be a team player who picks up implicit tasks, is self-organized and self-motivated, embraces autonomy and working remotely but enjoys the occasional travel to interface with colleagues or clients for implementations, training and use case exploration
  • The right candidate is naturally inquisitive with the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical personnel and isn’t afraid to present creative, data-driven ideas to stakeholders.
  • Passion and curiosity for what is happening within RegTech, FinTech, SupTech and Data Science.
  • Efficient balance between accuracy and speed, as well as self-awareness and empathy while getting things done.
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Additional languages are also beneficial. 
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time (Domestic and International)
